Exploratory Dive & Mangrove/Seagrass Meadows Snorkeling

This morning we met with our advisors for our independent research project for the semester to talk about our interests. After our meeting, we went on an exploratory dive to look more closely at the interest that we expressed in our meeting. I think I am going to do something on sea anemones but need to do some research to see what question I want to ask.

This afternoon we snorkeled in Lac Baii around the mangroves and seagrass meadows. The visibility was low but still saw some interesting things. Saw a bunch of juvenile fish species, a little barracuda, and a Queen conch (which are illegal to catch here on Bonaire, but people still poach them).
