It took a little bit to get use too, because you have to keep track of your buoyancy, air supply, depth, position in the water, have buddy contact all while making sure you see what the instructors are pointing at to correctly identify. Then there is the writing component we need not to forget. Writing underwater is a bit difficult because you have a slate attached to your vest (so you don't lose it) which you have to find a good way to hold to write. To say the least, my handwriting wasn't the best. However, it will improve underwater the more I do it. Like everything else, practice makes perfect.
